Data migration is to move and make the data that originated from one system be compatible with the new systems. It is performed when there are requirements such as (i) upgrades of organisation’s software (ii) change of application systems (iii) change in business rules and processes, and in many other requirements. And the assurance of the data migration should be paid a lot of attention so to minimize data loss and improve the adequacy of the data migration process.

Pono Pitsoe holds a CISA, N.Dip. Financial Information System, Diploma in Business Analysis. He is a Manager at SNG Grant Thornton Advisory Services. Prior to joining SNG Grant Thornton, Pono worked for Ernst &Young, SizweNtsaluba and the South Africa Revenue Services.

He possesses extensive experience in the advisory space, consulting to internal and external clients across various industries including financial services, energy and public sector. He has demonstrated skills in systems controls, data and analytics, data migration, data quality and the management of data.

Pono has assisted various companies to assess the integrity of their data during migration. This includes identifying discrepancies between the source and target systems, deviations from the established business rules and providing assurance on the adequacy of the data migration. He also enjoys providing in-house workshops/training in data and analytics.
